Meet the Maker

Meet Ami Freeman, the heart and hands behind Lēoht Studio.

Lēoht—taken from the Old English word for illuminate—grew out of Ami’s simple love for candles and the way they can shift the feeling of a room. A single flame, a soft glow, a familiar scent—these little details have a way of calming us, bringing back memories, and making everyday moments feel special. Whether it’s the cozy sweetness of vanilla on a rainy afternoon, or the quiet crackle of a wooden wick at night, candles leave a lasting impression.

For years, Ami searched for candles she could truly enjoy—ones that wouldn’t cause headaches or fill her home with toxins. When she couldn’t find them, she decided to make her own. That’s how Lēoht Studio was born: out of a desire for something cleaner, safer, and more honest. Each candle is poured by hand in small batches using a coconut wax blend, wooden wicks that gently crackle, and carefully chosen fragrance oils that are safe for you and your home. They’re free from parabens, phthalates, lead, and anything harmful—so what you get is a candle that burns clean and true to scent.

But Lēoht isn’t just about candles. It’s about living with intention, taking care of the planet, and giving back. A portion of every purchase supports local organizations, and Ami puts her own time into serving the community she loves.
